BASKETBALL FROM A FANS PERSPECTIVE

99% of the time, well maybe 100%
A discussion of talent or potential talent usually revolves around “aircraft carriers.”  That’s natural, if the basket is 10 feet off the floor, and we have 7-foot prospects that’s generally the focus.  How about a 5 foot 11 inch guy who might be closer to 5-10, that’s the description of Markus Howard a junior guard at Marquette.  Howard is a scoring dynamo, he’s at 24.4 ppg along with 4.1 assists along with 4 rebounds to date.  This point guard might be one of the keys for Marquette’s 16-3 record as this is written.  Is Howard a draft prospect…well that remains a question.  The adage certainly applies to him, “Big guys must prove they can’t play while smaller guys must prove they can play.”  As a junior he might remain in school another year just store his name in your memory banks.
It’s not me
On hearing the Bulls traded for Carmelo Anthony this was a fan response.  Great trade for the Bulls too bad this isn’t 2010.”  Don’t shoot the messenger I’m only reporting what I read and what someone else wrote.  My guilt is reporting it, it might be close to a fact.  NOTE:  This might not be Anthony’s final stop, it’s reported he will never wear a Bulls jersey.  They are likely to release him.
Hey Scottie
According to NBADraft.net Ja Morant of Murray State is likely the second pick in the 2019 NBA draft.  As for R.J. Barrett of Duke he’s projected as the number three pick, how about Rui Hachimura of Gonzaga at four.  Besides Zion Williamson these athletes and others are likely lottery picks.  Should they turn in their stuff too and begin preparing for the draft?  I realize I’m picking on Scottie Pippen however I hope he was misquoted.
There are methods of avoiding injury other than simply quitting your team.  I’m always reminded of former Spurs player Sean Elliott’s story.  He could have left Arizona after his junior year, but his mom wanted him to earn his degree.  She took out an “injury policy” with Lloyds of London, the policy was only for one year, but it was protection for Sean to ensure he suffered no major injury his senior year.
He does a great deal of trash talkin’
Joel Embiid talks a great deal of trash, for the most part most of us believe it's just that talk.  We believe the Sixer center to be a trash talker, most of us don’t believe he’s a dirty player. I take that back; Thunder guard Russell Westbrook might have another view.   The statement is made due to a recent incident at the time his Sixers faced the Thunder, did you see it?  If you didn’t allow me to attempt a description of the event.
Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was driving toward the basket with Embiid trailing him.  It appears Westbrook dipped his shoulder to avoid Embiid and the Sixer center went airborne attempting to block the shot.  Embiid in the air crashed into Westbrook landing on top of him.  Anyone would feel upset if this had occurred to them, it’s my belief if the 250-pound Embiid wanted to harm Westbrook he might have.  Check out the video below for your own evaluation.
