Basketball from a fan’s perspective

It’s even now
Warriors 109 Raptors 104, the series is now even (1-1) as the team’s head to California.  More detail in the Tuesday edition of Words eye view.

Did I tell you
How much I hate, yes that’s a strong word Auto Correct.  I claim no great ability to write however occasionally words are misspelled or the grammar might be incorrect in Words eye view.  Publishing daily with a one-man crew (me) can become rushed at times.  Please overlook the errors, I’ll try to correct them when I find them.  Thank you for continuing to read my blog.
Larry Laker’s not correct ALL THE TIME
Me hatin’ on Drake for his antics, someone had to remind me of Spike Lee and Reggie Miller.  To set the stage it was the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals, the Indiana Pacers versus the New York Knicks.  Lee from his courtside seat and Reggie Miller were chirping at one another throughout the entire game.  Miller would end up scoring 25 points in the 4th quarter of the game leading his Pacers to a 93-86 win over the Knicks.  So, I missed this one fans of Drake, my apologies to you and your man.
They existed for a short time
The Baltimore Bullets were members of three leagues, the ABL from 1944-1947.  Basketball Association of American 1947-49 and the NBA from 1949-1954.  At the end of the season the team folded, in 1962 the Zephyrs moved from Chicago becoming the “new” Baltimore Bullets.  The Bullets called Baltimore home before locating to the Washington D. C. metro in 1973.  Did you realize this version of the Nuggets are Denver’s second team to play under that name?  The early version of the Nuggets was an NBL team and later an NBA member when the NBL was absorbed.
This version of the Nuggets was active from 1948-50.  Indianapolis Indiana had three NBA teams prior to the Pacers, the Jets and the Olympians were two of them, they lasted from 1948-1953.  The Detroit Falcons arrived years prior to the Pistons, they were a Basketball Association team and lasted just one season 1946-47.  How about the St. Louis Bombers, Toronto Huskies and Washington Capitals?  The Capitals had a coach by the name of Red Auerbach from 1946-49.  We also have the Chicago Stags and Cleveland Rebels who also lasted but a few seasons.  This represents just a few cities that once had National Basketball League, Basketball Association of America and NBA teams.
Bits n Pieces
Trivia fans arguing if LeBron James might eclipse Michael Jordan in championship rings.  Robert Horry nicknamed Big Shot Rob is often overlooked in the discussion he’s the leader.  He’s got 7 NBA championship rings, 2 with the Rockets, 3 as a member of the Lakers.  Horry would gain his final 2 rings while he was a member of the Spurs.  His career scoring average was only 7 points a game, but he rates with the best clutch shooters in NBA history.  He earned the nickname “Big Shot” for the numerous baskets he sunk resulting in a win for his teams.
Several sports teams have historic connections, that’s the case for the University of Missouri.   Mizzou’s sports teams are the Tigers, the name is shared with Auburn, LSU and others but Mizzou’s might be unique.  During the American Civil War Missouri, a slave state didn’t succeed from the union.  Confederate and union sympathizers existed throughout this border state.  The story is a potential battle, Confederate troops were marching toward Columbia (MO), union defenders of Columbia referred to themselves as “Tigers”.  Later the campus located in the city adopted the Tiger as a symbol of its sports teams.
I’ve settled on Virginia’s DeAndre Hunter as the Laker pick.  Should that turn out to be correct do they resemble this lineup:
Move Brandon Ingram to shooting guard?
LeBron James becomes a permanent power forward
Hunter moves into the vacated small forward spot
