Basketball from a fans perspective

“Analytics often involves studying past historical data to research potential trends, to analyze the effects of certain decisions or events, or to evaluate the performance of a given tool or scenario. The goal of analytics is to improve the business by gaining knowledge which can be used to make improvements or changes.” Who do you side with Charles Barkley or Rockets GM Daryl Morey?
Barkley: “I’m not worried about Daryl Morey. He’s one of those idiots who believe in analytics.”
Morey: “Best part of being at a TNT game live is it is easy to avoid Charles spewing misinformed biased vitriol disguised as entertainment.”

This can’t be correct---is it?
Speaking of the Rockets they dumped HOF player and Coach Kevin McHale early in the 2015-16 season. To my knowledge there was no indication former assistant B.J. Bickerstaff would inheriet the job full-time. Reports are circulating the Rockets list of coaches includes Jeff Van Gundy. Didn’t owner Les Alexander fire Van Gundy in 2007? Morey was on the job as GM was he in agreement with the actions of his boss?
Blame me
Warrior fans it’s my fault, yesterday I published an account of consecutive playoff winning streaks. What happens the Warriors lose 97-96 to the Rockets so I take the blame for them losing? On the other hand the loss could have something to do with a certain point guard not in the lineup.
This is good
There’s not been a great deal of good news coming from Mizzou nation in the past few months. I’m not sure if this qualifies as positive but I believe it is. If you remember I wrote of the defections from the program and the fact the roster will now reflect all Kim Anderson recruits.
One of the incoming recruits is 6-6 small forward Willie Jackson; he’s responsible for another addition to the Mizzou basketball program. Jackson from Cleveland (OH) is a buddy to Frankie Hughes a 6-3 shooting guard. Hughes is from Garfield Heights a city part of the Cleveland metroplex. On April 10 Hughes verbally committed to Mizzou, this is no assertion on either players’ capability however change is in the air.
The Jim Buss lament
I provided the incorrect information for you, I believed Laker co-owner Jim Buss said he would step down if he couldn’t make the team contenders again. That statement is true the portion that is incorrect is the time-line. I believed it to be the end of the 2016 season which I communicated, a writer for a Laker fan website indicates the date is 2017. This might appear to work in favor of Buss however I’m not too sure.
Consider this fact the Lakers won-loss record has declined each year since Buss made the promise he would step down. To borrow and slightly change the Rick Pitino line when he coached the Celtics; “Kobe Bryant isn’t walking through that (training camp) door.” IF Kevin Durant signs with the Lakers, IF the Lakers retain a top three pick in the draft. IF that top three pick manages to have a decent rookie season. That’s far too many IF’s for me to believe could occur in a single season.
