Basketball from a fans perspective

Game 1
Well not all however a significant number are laughing at the Lakers Lonzo Ball. His first game against the Clippers was less than spectacular. The point most folks are likely laughing at LaVar who wasn’t on the court. I didn’t see the entire game but from the box score can see Ball shot poorly from the floor. Shooting aside the line for the balance of his game read 5 assists 4 rebounds and 2 steals, it should be of note Lonzo had on only 3 TO‘s in 32 minutes of action on the floor.
Should this first game be an indication Ball cannot play at this level? I don’t think so, if it sounds as if I’m making an excuse so be it. The problem for me (and maybe others) is LaVar Ball, he needs to sit down and shut up. Daddy fails to consider how much additional pressure he’s placing on his son’s shoulders. This is written Saturday morning prior to the game against the Celtics I will continue to provide updates on his play.
Game 2 “Messed around and got a triple-double”
Ice Cube said it first in his rap video “It was a Good Day. “ The Celtics crew won 86-81 however Lonzo Ball registered a triple-double in his second Summer League game. Ball could have shot better from the floor (.384 11 pts) however his 11 rebounds and 11 assists kept them in the game. arrogant manner of his father I could see it. From the introductory press conference the Lakers held Lonzo appears to be a quiet but competitive young man. The only question at this point in time should be can Lonzo play in the NBA and help improve the Laker team? I’ll repeat an earlier statement I trust the basketball expertise of Magic Johnson over a number of the pundits I’ve either read or heard on television.
Philadelphia Big 5
Unless you are from the Philadelphia area the term Big 5 means nothing to you. The Big 5 has nothing to do with Will Smith, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons of the Sixers, the Flyers Jakub Voracek or Eagles QB Carson Wentz. It’s an informal group of universities located in and around the city of Philadelphia.
They are by name the University of Pennsylvania, Temple, Villanova, LaSalle and St. Joseph’s. None of the schools play in the same conference the schools are competitive in basketball and at least one representative has made the NCAA tournament for the last past 39 years. In the future should you hear someone mention the Philadelphia Big 5 you’ll know they are referring to this collection of competitive basketball programs?
Don’t forget him
“Screaming “ Stephen A. Smith and others are jumping up and down with joy now that Phil Jackson is no longer in place. If Smith and others stopped and paused a moment they might realize the problem is still in place. James Dolan might be the worst NBA owner now that Jim Buss has been sent to the sidelines. Jackson was hired in 2014 however the Knicks were not setting the world on fire prior to the Jackson hire.
In addition to Dolan a front office that was non-functioning for the most part and the succession of coaches since Jeff Van Gundy left the scene in 2001. We can only point to 2013 (54-28) and 2011 (42-40) as winning seasons since Van Gundy departed. Hey Stephen A., you and the balance of the mob that’s been screaming for Jackson to be gone your job is unfinished. You need to camp out in front of Jim Dolan’s office.
