Basketball from a fans perspective
Hey coach
Fisk University announced the hiring of former NBA player Kenny Anderson. Fisk located in Nashville Tennessee is one of the numbers of historically black colleges in the south, the school is on the national register of historic places. The school plays in the Association of Independent Institutions and competes at the NAIA level. The full picture of Anderson’s hire is unknown since it occurs weeks after school has begun. Anderson inherits a good team they finished 17-8 last season, good luck coach Anderson.
He’s headed to
the Wolves
Luol Deng signed a 1-year contract with the Wolves. I indicated earlier for unforeseen reasons the Lakers chose to sit him on the bench. I also indicated to my knowledge there were no complaints or going to the media to voice this concern. Deng is certainly on the downhill side of his NBA career but clearly demonstrated his professional attitude. Hopefully this upcoming season will be productive and fruitful for Deng…the consummate professional.

Excitement for a
different reason
I’m looking forward to the NBA season to see him in action for the first time. No, not that guy you thought I was going to say LeBron James. Yes, I’m looking forward to seeing his debut with the Lakers but also to see the Mavs Luka Doncic in action. The expectation is the 6-foot 7-inch Doncic could be one of the continued “bricks” in rebuilding the Mavs back to playoff and perhaps championship basketball.

I checked the team’s depth
chart on the ESPN.com NBA page, he’s listed as the backup point guard. We have no idea if that will be his ultimate
position in the NBA however scouting reports indicate he’s got the skill level
to play the point. You can bet your bottom
dollar numerous television sets will be turned on in Slovenia at 4:00 or 5:00
a.m. in the morning. They will be tuned
in to witness their fellow countryman make his debut in the NBA.
The rumors have
begun
Anthony Davis to the Lakers, have you heard the tale? None of it is true just wild rumors based on a change. The Pelicans center terminated his contract and hired a new agent, that agent is none other than Rich Paul friend and agent to LeBron James. I claimed last spring and summer LeBron WAS NOT headed to the Lakers, I have a choice once again. Anthony Davis IS NOT headed to the Lakers, there I said it I ain’t scared. While discussing rumors have you heard this one, Kyrie Irving to the Knicks next season.

Irving expressed a desire
for a trade to a contender, the Cavs obliged trading Irving to the
Celtics. Why the Knicks, they are far
from playoff contenders, it could be they are New York City with all its glitz
and glamour. To compound this issue
further point guard Terry Rozier is a 2019 free-agent, the Celtics are
reluctant to trade him after an outstanding playoff series. The Celtics don’t want to lose either player,
Danny Ainge has quite a decision in front of him at the end of next
season.
